Please include your device, operating-system version, NoteBoard version and the steps that led to the problem. A screenshot with private content removed can help. Do not send passwords, access tokens or a copy of your private workspace unless you have deliberately removed sensitive information.
Getting started
NoteBoard starts with a private workspace on your device. You do not need a NoteBoard account to create tasks and notes. If editing is unavailable, open Data Store and enable Write mode. The app shows an explanation when another condition prevents a save.
To open an existing compatible workspace, choose Data Store → Open → Choose folder and select the folder containing its config.json and note files. A folder in iCloud Drive or another file provider may need to download before it opens. NoteBoard does not provide its own workspace sync service.
Changes are not saving
Check Data Store for Write mode, a save error or a conflict. A conflict means the file changed outside the current edit. Preserve your edits before reloading or choosing the file on disk. If Data Store offers Save a local copy, use it to keep a copy of the pending task configuration; keep separate copies of important note drafts as well.
When using an external folder, check that the folder is still available and that its provider has finished downloading it. Reopen the folder through the system picker if access has expired. Contact support if the problem continues.
Gmail
Gmail is optional and requires a Google account and internet access. Connect it in Data Store → Gmail → Connect Gmail. Archiving, filing and sending also require Write mode. Credentials use Apple's Keychain and may sync through iCloud Keychain when your Apple account and settings allow it.
If access has expired or been revoked, disconnect and reconnect the account. Disconnect removes NoteBoard's native saved credential, but leaves your Google mailbox and saved tasks, notes and drafts intact. You can revoke access separately in your Google account's third-party connections settings.
If a send result is uncertain, check Gmail's Sent folder before retrying to avoid a duplicate reply.
AI availability
Title suggestions, summaries and Today suggestions require a compatible device with Apple Intelligence and Apple's on-device model available. These actions may be hidden when the system reports that they are unavailable. Core tasks and notes work without AI.
Removing data
Delete tasks and unwanted files from your workspace. Archive keeps a note and can be undone; Move to Trash follows your system or file provider's recovery behavior. To remove all copies, also manage Trash, Recently Deleted and any provider backups.
Disconnect Gmail before uninstalling if you want to remove NoteBoard's native saved credential. Uninstalling alone does not guarantee removal of Keychain data, folders you selected, cloud files or backups. The app currently has no single control that erases every draft and preference; email support for device-specific removal help.
