Common questions

Does swiping left delete the photo?

No. Swiping left only marks it. Nothing is deleted until you open Review, check what you marked, and approve it. iOS then asks you to confirm once more.

I deleted something by mistake. Can I get it back?

Yes, for 30 days. Open the Photos app, go to Recently Deleted, and recover it.

I deleted lots of photos, but my storage didn't go up.

Deleted photos stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days and still take up space. To get the space back now, empty Recently Deleted in the Photos app. Apps can't do that for you.

Why does the app say “about” next to sizes?

iOS doesn't tell apps how big each file is, so Keepers estimates it from the resolution, type and length. Your actual savings may be somewhat higher or lower.

Why are Probably Junk and Near-Duplicates empty or short?

Keepers looks at your photos on your iPhone, which takes a while for a big library. It works while the app is open, and in the background while your iPhone is charging. Photos stored only in iCloud are checked using the smaller copy on your iPhone.

Where are my favorites?

Favorites are skipped so they can't be deleted by accident. To include them, turn on Include Favorites in Settings.

I only see some of my photos.

You may have given Keepers access to selected photos only. In Settings, tap Choose More Photos, or Open iOS Settings to allow all photos.

Does deleting a photo remove it from my albums?

Yes. A photo is only stored once, so deleting it removes it from every album it's in. Review marks these photos and names the albums before you delete anything.

I use iCloud Shared Library.

Deleting a photo from a Shared Library deletes it for everyone who shares it. iOS doesn't let apps tell which photos are shared, so check before deleting photos others might want.

Does Keepers use cellular data?

Only to download photos and videos from iCloud when you use Optimize iPhone Storage. To stop that on cellular, turn off Download Over Cellular in Settings. In Low Data Mode, downloads are always paused.
